Khaleej Times learned that from August 30, people with entry permits and visit visas-from countries that restrict travel to the UAE-can fly to Dubai.

The Federal Identity and Citizenship Administration (ICA) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Agency (NCEMA) said on Saturday that the country will resume issuing visas to tourists vaccinated against Covid from August 30.

Airline sources confirmed that people with all types of visas and/or entry permits granted by the UAE authorities can fly to Dubai. The approved visa categories are: employment, short-term or long-term stay, visits and newly issued residence visas.

Starting at 12 AM on Monday, passengers from Bangladesh, Congo, India, Liberia, Namibia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Uganda, Vietnam and Zambia can fly to Dubai. These instructions were issued by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) in a notice to airlines, and Khaleej Times has seen a copy of the notice.

Resident visa holders must obtain pre-travel approval from the Federal Status and Citizenship Approval Authority (ICA) or the General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) to enter the UAE.

All other visa holders must present a valid negative Covid-19 test certificate, which was issued by an approved health service agency within 48 hours from the date of sample collection, and the certificate uses a QR code system.

“Passengers must also submit a rapid PCR test report, which should be based on molecular diagnostic tests to qualitatively detect the nucleic acid of SARS-COV-2 viral RNA; it should be carried out at the departure airport six hours before departure, and a QR code system should be provided. “The notice said.

Air India, the national airline of India, also issued a notice to travel agencies stating the new guidelines. A senior airline official confirmed the reports to Khaleej Times and stated that they are waiting for further clarification from other Emirates aviation authorities in order to facilitate passengers travelling to Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.

In addition, Emirates’ customer service Twitter account responded to multiple queries on Twitter to ensure that visa holders of all categories of passengers can enter the country.

“Entry permit holders can now travel from Pakistan to Dubai. You do not need GDRFA approval,” it said in a tweet.
