He also visited the headquarters of the search and rescue team dispatched by the UAE to Turkey and expressed his appreciation for their efforts. In Kahramanmaras, he also met Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu and reiterated his country’s support for Türkiye following the disaster.
After the quake, the UAE began sending tents to Turkey for 33,000 people. So far, 515 marquee tents accommodating 16 people have arrived in Turkey from the UAE. The country has also allocated large military and civilian cargo planes so that other countries may deliver international aid to Turkey. The UAE has the second largest cargo aircraft in the world, capable of transporting 150 tons of cargo.
