UAE-Germany Billion-Dollar Investment Push
The UAE and Germany are preparing several billion dollars worth of agreements covering investment, artificial intelligence and energy as both countries move to strengthen their economic partnership.
The deals are being announced during UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to Berlin. UAE Minister of State Lana Nusseibeh said the agreements will open a new stage in relations between the two countries.
AI and Energy Take Centre Stage
A major part of the partnership will focus on technology cooperation. The UAE and Germany are preparing a framework that will bring together researchers and investors to support collaboration in artificial intelligence and other technologies.
The two countries are also expanding cooperation in energy transition. Existing partnerships in renewable energy, hydrogen and energy efficiency will provide a foundation for further projects.
Germany and the UAE already have a strong economic relationship. Their non-oil trade reached about $15.5 billion annually, according to UAE officials.
The planned agreements come as both countries seek stronger partnerships amid global economic and geopolitical uncertainty. Germany wants to deepen its links with Gulf economies, while the UAE is continuing to expand its investment and technology relationships across Europe.
Earlier reports also indicated that the two sides were preparing an investment council and broader cooperation covering areas such as digital infrastructure and data centres.
The UAE-Germany Billion-Dollar Investment Push could therefore strengthen cooperation beyond traditional trade, with AI, clean energy and advanced technology becoming increasingly important to the relationship.
