In his welcome remarks at the 1st Multi-Religious Peace Roundtable in Tokyo, Japan, Bin Bayyah noted that the UAE was the first country to establish a Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence and embraced the values ​​of peace, harmony, negotiation and dialogue as a nation” 10 principles for the next 50 years”.

He called on attendees to continue to find the best ways to support religious leaders in their efforts to come up with practical steps to implement noble values.

The goals of the Peace Roundtable are:

  • Emphasizing the role of multi-religious leaders working in war-torn and humanitarian contexts, seeking to understand how different religious platforms play a role in ongoing reconciliation efforts;
  • Assess the needs of post-war leaders of different religions; and share how multi-religious humanitarian efforts can contribute to the reconciliation and reconstruction of societies.
