With the Emirates Group announcing its most profitable year to date, the airline revealed it hired more than 15,000 staff last year alone. Backed by strong consumer demand, Emirates and dnata intensify their global recruitment activities in 2022-23. As a result, the Group’s total workforce increased by 20% to 102,379 employees, representing more than 160 different nationalities.

The company released its annual report for 2022-23 on Thursday, with a record annual profit of AED10.9 billion ($3 billion). This is a complete reversal of the company’s loss-making situation last year.

Chairman and CEO Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum said: “We had anticipated a strong return to travel, with the The lifting of restrictions and the surge in demand we are ready to quickly and safely expand our business to serve our customers,” said Emirates Airline and Group Chief Executive Officer.

“Our continued investment in our brand and our products and services help drive customer preference and position us well in the marketplace. As a result, we achieved record financial performance and cash balances in fiscal 2022-23 . This reflects the strength of our proven business model, our careful forward planning, the hard work of all of our employees, and our strong partnerships across the aviation and travel ecosystems.”

recruitment boom

Even as the global aviation industry faces a severe shortage of skilled workers, Emirates has managed to find and recruit staff.

Last year, the company held several open houses and participated in job fairs to recruit for the booming aviation industry. In September, the group announced that it would hire more than 800 people across areas including software engineering, DevOps, hybrid cloud, agile delivery, technical product management, digital workplace, cybersecurity, IT architecture, innovation and service management.

In December, the group held open days in Antwerp, Sarajevo, Milan, Barcelona, Nice, Montpellier and Bodrum to recruit cabin crew.

The group’s careers website has nearly 200 vacancies, more than half of which are in the UAE.
