Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, UAE’s Minister of State for Foreign Trade, led a UAE delegation to the World Trade Organisation’s (WTO) Public Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, themed “It’s Time for Action.” The forum focuses on leveraging technology and inclusive trade policies for a greener and more sustainable future.
During the event, Dr. Al Zeyoudi participated in a session called “Conversation on the Trade, Global Economy, and Climate Change Nexus,” organized by the UAE as part of its preparations to host the WTO’s 13th Ministerial Conference in Abu Dhabi in February. He emphasized the UAE’s commitment to technology-driven smart supply chains, highlighting the partnership with the World Economic Forum’s TradeTech Initiative.
Dr. Al Zeyoudi stressed the need to work together to envision and adopt greener, smarter supply chains in preparation for MC13 and COP28 in Dubai.
He also met with WTO permanent representatives from various member nations to align on key policy objectives and enhance supply chain inclusivity and efficiency.
Additionally, Dr. Al Zeyoudi attended the launch of The World Trade Report 2023, which focuses on “re-globalization” and aligns with the UAE’s advocacy for open, rules-based trade.
The UAE delegation included prominent officials and experts from various government departments and agencies, demonstrating the nation’s dedication to shaping the future of global trade.
