Dr Sheikh Sultan directs Sewa to waive utility bills to ease financial burden

Sharjah’s utility Sewa announced that 4,500 citizens residing in the emirate will benefit from a major utility subsidy announced by the authorities.
Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (Sewa), confirmed that the company has been instructed to waive Dh400 in water, electricity and gas consumption bill relief for 4,500 citizens who are currently receiving Sharjah social assistance Economically affordable services.
The step was taken on the instructions of His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah.
The decision also included providing AED 20 million to improve citizens’ homes using modern technologies that save electricity and water.
Suwaidi added that the ruler took this decision out of concern for the citizens of the emirate who depend on social service assistance to ensure the stability of the emirate’s family and society.
