UAE: More Rain via Month-Long Cloud-Seeding from Next Week

UAE’s Special Cloud-Seeding Mission to Boost Rainfall: A month-long initiative starting next week from Al Ain International Airport. Conducted by the National Center of Meteorology (NCM) until September’s end.

Researchers and pilots will analyze different seeding materials’ performance, aiding more efficient cloud seeding.

Advanced sensors on NCM aircraft and SPEC Learjet will gather data. Previously, 22 missions were conducted in June, resulting in rain across the country.

Cloud seeding, enhancing rain capacity, started in the late 1990s by targeting convective clouds using salt flares from specialized aircraft.
