Rabat – During an official visit to Morocco, Dr. Sultan Ahmed al-Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technologies, met with Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akanush and several ministers from the Moroccan government.
The meeting was attended by Al Asri Saeed Ahmed Al Dhaheri, UAE Ambassador to Morocco.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al Jaber conveyed the greetings and best wishes of the leaders, government and people of the UAE to Morocco and its people, and emphasized the deep historical ties between the two countries.
The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and investment opportunities in a number of important areas.
The visit is in line with the shared desire of the leaders of the UAE and Morocco to strengthen and expand relations in new strategic areas, and to promote their cooperation in industry, economy, investment, culture and tourism.
During his visit, Dr. Jaber met with Nasser Britta, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Diaspora of Morocco, and discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them, as well as several regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Jaber also held talks with Riyadh Masur, Minister of Industry and Trade of Morocco, and Leila Benali, Minister of Energy Transformation and Sustainable Development, to discuss strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the fields of energy, renewable energy, industry and technology, And the importance of continuing relevant coordination and consultations between the two countries.
Discussions also included the UAE hosting COP28 and working together to ensure energy security and support climate action to achieve sustainable economic development goals.
In the first nine months of 2022, UAE-Morocco non-oil trade totaled AED 2.8 billion, an increase of 24% compared to the same period in 2021.
