Mugheirah Bay and Mamsha Al Mugheirah are set amidst a breathtaking landscape, accessed from a scenic jetty, offering unparalleled views of the surrounding natural habitat
UAE residents and tourists opened two new attractions in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The Ruler’s representative in the Al Dhafra region, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed, has inaugurated Mugheirah Bay and Mamsha Al Mugheirah, two integrated waterfront destinations developed by Modon Properties.
The 12-hectare Mugheirah Bay offers a rich retail, entertainment, leisure and lifestyle experience with 15 F&B outlets, three retail towers, a multi-purpose gaming and retail center and an events lawn.
This vibrant new destination also features a variety of unique recreational facilities including a splash park, skate park, outdoor gym, bike trails, multi-purpose courts for basketball, soccer and volleyball, and a laser tag and paintball center.
The two projects are located in Al Dhafra, adjacent to Modon’s ecotourism camp project, Bab Al Nojoum – Al Mugheirah Resort.
The one-stop beachfront destination overlooks Mamsha Al Mugheirah, a boardwalk nestled among the surrounding natural mangroves, linking The Bab Al Nojoum – Al Mugheirah Resort and entertainment at Mugheirah Bay. Mamsha Al Mugheirah spans approximately 2 kilometers and offers sweeping sea views.
Mugheirah Bay and Mamsha Al Mugheirah are nestled within a breathtaking landscape, and guests can enter from the scenic marina to enjoy unparalleled views of the surrounding natural habitat. From the observation tower and education center at Mamsha Al Mugheirah, visitors can also spot the various animals that inhabit the area, such as black herons and dugongs.
During the launch of Mugheirah Bay and Mamsha Al Mugheirah, His Highness was accompanied by Sheikh Yas bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nayhan, His Excellency Ahmed Matar Al Dhaheri, Head of the Office of the Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, Issa Hamad Bushhab, Adviser to the Government of Sudan, UAE Red Crescent Nasser Mohammed Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Council; Muhammad Ali Al-Mansouri, Undersecretary of the Court of Representatives of the Rulers of the Al Dhafra Region; Director-General of the Municipal Government of the Al Dhafra Region; Abdulla Al Sahi, Managing Director of Modon Properties; and Bill O’Regan, Chief Executive Officer of Modon Properties officers and other senior officials.
Sheikh Hamdan toured both projects, during which he was briefed on the various services and facilities for tourists developed according to the highest international standards. He also commended Modern Properties for its work in continuously developing world-class tourism destinations.
Commenting on the inauguration, Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed said: “The opening of Mugheirah Bay and Mugheirah Boardwalk has enriched the Abu Dhabi’s tourism and economic potential. With the addition of these projects, the Al Dhafra area has become a destination of choice for tourists and residents, while supporting construction and development operations. Mugheirah Bay and Mugheirah Boardwalk further cement Abu Dhabi as an unrivaled status as an entertainment, leisure and business destination.”

With a range of flexible open spaces, Mugheirah Bay is ideal for the temporary hire of food trucks and kiosks. A robust network of shady pedestrian routes featuring art installations connects the adjacent campground with the northern beaches community.
