The first phase of a plan to deploy a high-tech next-generation biometric identification has been rolled out at Abu Dhabi International Airport, where passengers will use their faces to obtain boarding passes and use other services.

Abu Dhabi-based technology company NEXT50, together with global AI and technology solutions partners IDEMIA and SITA, will roll out its cutting-edge AI solutions at selected self-service baggage touchpoints, immigration e-gates and boarding gates, and then at Implement the technology at all passenger touch points at the airport. The new technology will improve the passenger journey and make the Midfield Terminal the first international airport to feature biometrics at all customer touchpoints.

The system will use high-tech biometric cameras to verify passenger details at multiple touchpoints at the airport, including self-service bag drop, passport control, business class lounges and boarding gates.
