A specially crafted nomination form will be distributed to over 500 UAE schools in partnership with the UAE Schools Agency and supported through a range of events to raise awareness of the value of the award. Deadline for nominations is October 31st.
The simplified form for the 11th edition can be downloaded from the Abu Dhabi Awards website. It includes a creative space for their nominees’ drawings, text or images, and the organizing committee confirms that these entries will be evaluated in the same way as all other nominations.
Children can also write a thank you note to the person they nominated and record a video describing in just three sentences why they nominated the person on the condition of anonymity. Alternatively, students can record a video with family or friends highlighting which of their qualities best represent the value of the award.
Participating schools have the opportunity to be awarded the “Most Engaged School” in a national competition, while another award for “Best School Activities Coordinator” will go to the best students.
“Today’s children are tomorrow’s community leaders. We are excited to involve young citizens and residents in this year’s nomination process and to teach them community spirit and selfless values from an early age. The new format will help us achieve this,” Abu Dhabi said. said Amal Al Ameri, member of the Organizing Committee of the Prize.
The award was held under the direction and patronage of His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This is a government initiative that honors unsung heroes who selflessly give their time to help others and have a positive impact on the country.
Since its inception, the Abu Dhabi Awards have received more than 1 million nominations from 135 countries. Previous winners have made valuable contributions in a wide range of fields including healthcare, education, the environment and the preservation of the heritage of the UAE and Abu Dhabi.
The award recognises anyone working to improve Emirati society, regardless of age, gender, nationality or place of residence. The only and only criterion that nominees must meet is to make a positive contribution to the UAE community.
