His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, reviewed the UAE’s partnership with the SCO, highlighting the organization’s role in supporting the entire Eurasian key role in the political stability and economic prosperity of the mainland and beyond.

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization was established in June 2001. The main goal of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is to strengthen relations among member states; to promote cooperation in the fields of politics, economy and trade, science and technology, culture, education, energy, transportation, tourism, and environmental protection; to maintain regional peace, security and stability; to establish a fair and just international politics economic order.
The member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization are the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of India, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The SCO observer states include the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, the Republic of Belarus and Mongolia.
