UAE officials discuss cooperation with Iran’s road minister

A senior Iranian transport official visited the United Arab Emirates on Monday.The visit comes amid a rapprochement between Iran and Saudi Arabia and sends a continuing strong signal UAE – Iran relation.

Mehrdad Bazrpash, Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development, visited Abu Dhabi, where he met Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister, and Suhail Al Mazroui, UAE Minister of Energy. In a related matter, the Iranian Chamber of Commerce reported on Monday that the two countries were discussing establishing a “direct container route” between Iran’s southern Iranian port of Bushehr and Dubai’s Jebel Ali port. The purpose of the line is to reduce the transit time between the two countries.
