UAE Onshore firm hires Atlantic Sapphire veteran

Land Salmon Company Ocean Harvest It has been announced that Bruno Sardenberg has been added to its leadership team as production director and acting technical director. The latest appointment of the region’s leading technology-based aquaculture start-up strengthens Ocean Harvest’s ability to develop its first commercial-scale land-based salmon farm in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The new appointment comes five months after Ocean Harvest, Besix and Technology Group Announced a strategic partnership to design, build and operate a high-tech onshore salmon farm in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

“I am delighted to welcome Bruno Sardenberg to the Ocean Harvest team,” said Mr. Haytham Shanshal, Co-founder and CEO of Ocean Harvest.

“Ocean Harvest seeks to improve the global food system by pioneering intensive recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) technology in import-dependent and water-stressed regions. For this, it is more important than ever to have the right talent to achieve our goals .”

Bruno Sardenberg will lead the company’s production-related activities as well as technical design and construction. Bruno was previously Director of Aquaculture Engineering at Atlantic Sapphire, the world’s largest land-based salmon farm in Miami, Florida. Before joining Atlantic Sapphire, Bruno was Hatchery Director at Open Sea Farms in Panama.

Bruno will oversee project delivery and production operations for Ocean Harvest’s first onshore salmon farm in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Bruno will also provide technical and production-related support for the development of the company’s other projects in the wider MEASA region. Bruno has unique skills and has held leadership positions in production, engineering and farm operations.
