UAE President plants tree in Ethiopian PM’s office garden

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited Ethiopia to strengthen bilateral ties and address mutual interests. During his trip, the President met various dignitaries, including Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Both countries share a commitment to combatting climate challenges and achieving net-zero goals by 2050.

Symbolizing this commitment, the UAE President planted a tree in the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s office garden.

Ethiopia expressed its eagerness to participate in the 28th Conference of the Parties (COP28) to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, hosted by the UAE in Expo City Dubai from November 30 to December 12, 2023.

Ethiopia seeks to collaborate with the UAE on climate action, leveraging experiences, exchanging knowledge, and uniting efforts to achieve climate targets.

The UAE President has consistently highlighted climate change’s global impact. When meeting the COP28 delegation in the UAE, he affirmed the nation’s dedication to sustainability and the global climate cause.

During his Ethiopian visit, the President and Prime Minister discussed regional and international developments, emphasizing cooperation and partnerships to enhance the well-being and prosperity of their citizens.
