UAE President receives Jordanian King in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received King Abdullah II bin Hussein of Jordan, who was joined by Crown Prince Hussein bin Hussein of Jordan Accompanied by Prince Abdullah II to visit the UAE.

Sheikh Mohammed welcomed the King and Crown Prince of Jordan at Al Bateen Palace in Abu Dhabi, where they discussed the close historical relationship between the UAE and Jordan and expressed their mutual interest in further strengthening these ties.

The two sides reviewed existing areas of cooperation and collaboration that support the continued progress and prosperity of the two countries and their peoples.

They also exchanged greetings and best wishes on the approach of Eid al-Fitr, praying to Allah for the health, happiness, stability and prosperity of the people of the UAE and Jordan.

After the meeting, Sheikh Mohammed hosted an Iftar banquet in honor of King Abdullah II.

The meeting and iftar was attended by Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs; Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council Al Nahyan; Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Al Dhafra; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Representative of the Ruler of Abu Dhabi in Al Ain; Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior will; Sheikh Tayab bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zayed People’s Higher Organization of Resolve (ZHO); and a number of chiefs, officials and citizens.

Also in attendance was a delegation accompanying King Abdullah, which included Dr. Bisher Al Khasawneh, Prime Minister of Jordan; Dr. Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nassar Habashneh, Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the UAE; and some Jordanian officials.

King Abdullah II bin Hussein and his accompanying delegation arrived at Abu Dhabi’s Batin Airport earlier in the day, where they were greeted by Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan; Deputy Sheikh of Abu Dhabi Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan also welcomed the King of Jordan.
