His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, confirmed that the UAE is continuing to strengthen its position in the space sector, adding that the UAE national cadre is capable of reaching the highest level in the field, he said, yes One of the key areas to ensure sustainable development as it creates important economic and scientific opportunities.
Sheikh Mohammed made the statement at the Qasr Al Bahr Palace on Tuesday, where Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum attended a meeting of leaders of international space agencies that concluded today .
“The UAE will continue to support the space sector and develop national cadres at the highest level to enhance the country’s competitiveness in this field, working with partners from around the world for the benefit of all mankind,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
“We have confidence in the people of the UAE and our bet on them is a success. They have the will and ambition in space exploration to contribute constructively to the people of the world and ensure a better future for future generations,” Sheikh Mohammed added.
Leaders of the space agency include Christian Hauglie-Hanssen, Director General of the Norwegian Space Agency (NOSA); Ricardo Donte, Director General of the Portuguese Space Agency; Dr Hiroshi Yamakawe, President of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA); Serdar, President of the Turkish Space Agency (TUA) Hüseyin Yildirim; Dr. Robin Jess, Director, United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research; Dr. Sang-Ryool Lee, President, Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI); and Hervé Dery, President and CEO, Thales Elena Space.
Sheikh Mohammed also received founders of emerging Emirati companies in space and advanced technologies, urging them to work harder to develop the UAE space sector and forge ahead on its path to success in record time in order to strengthen the UAE’s position and its international influence in this important field.
The meeting was attended by Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor; Sheikh Hamed bin, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council Zayed Al Nahyan; Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Board of Zayed People’s Higher Organization of Resolve (ZHO); Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office Sheikh Khalid bin Mohamed bin Zayed; Sheikh Theab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council; Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Nahyan, Director General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Group Maktoum; Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and some sheikhs and senior officials.
