Abu Dhabi: United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed has two plans for a Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi, not one.

Zayed’s wish is that this temple should not be ordinary, but a huge Hindu temple. He hopes that all believers who come here to worship will carry the temple in their hearts. The temple was built by BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha. Pujya Brahmaviharidas Swami of Sanstha informed the media about this.

Brahmavihari Das was in India for the last few days and he informed about it. Brahmavihari Das is in charge of the temple that will be built in Abu Dhabi. He told Pramukh Swami Maharaj visited the UAE in April 1997 when he expressed his wish to build a huge temple in the capital.

“Even today, it is surprising to think that a Hindu temple will be built in Abu Dhabi,” he told the outlet.
“About a thousand smart people have told me that it is very difficult to build a stone temple here in Abu Dhabi. But we relied on the energy we received from the prayers of Pramukh Swami Maharaj in 1997, so this dream has come true today,” he added .

In August 2015, the UAE government provided land for the Abu Dhabi Temple. Sheikh Mohammed was the Crown Prince at the time. When Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the UAE, he gifted the land to the temple. That was Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to the UAE.

In 2018, BAPS representatives met Sheikh Mohammad and Modi at the Presidential Palace. Prime Minister Modi then arrived in Abu Dhabi during his second visit to the UAE. Brahmaviharidas Swami said this was the day he realized how big Sheikh Mohammad’s heart was.

He said he was surprised when he walked towards Prime Minister Modi. They don’t understand what’s going to happen. He put two plans in front of the chief. The first plan is to worship in a simple temple with idols like Hari Temple. The second plan is to build a huge stone temple that will contain 10,000 years of Indian art and culture.

When two plans were presented to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, he chose the traditional temple. 13.5 acres of land were originally secured for the temple. But then an additional 13.5 acres were made available for parking. According to Brahmavihari Das, the temple will be a symbol of love, harmony and tolerance as the foundation of the temple is based on only these three things. Construction work on the temple is underway on a 27-acre site in Abu Dhabi. The pink stone installed in the temple is about a thousand years old.
