Dubai: Be careful if you’re heading out today as dusty conditions are expected across the UAE. The Met Office said on Tuesday that temperatures in the UAE will rise slightly as a surface low-pressure system stretches from the east, meaning rain is likely in Abu Dhabi.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), the weather will be partly cloudy and dusty at times across the country. By early evening, cloud cover will increase over some coastal and northern areas and over the sea.
Motorists should be careful on the road as dust may affect visibility. People with allergies should also pay attention to protection when going out.
Temperatures are expected to rise during the day. At 8am, the temperature in Dubai reached 22°C and the sky was overcast.
Maximum temperatures in the interior of the country are expected to be between 25 and 29°C. Temperatures will reach 24 to 28°C in coastal areas and islands, and 16 to 21°C in mountains.
However, due to high humidity today, it will “feel like” temperatures will be higher than official readings. Humidity will reach 85 percent on Tuesday, the NCM said.
The lowest temperature recorded today was 9.4°C at Mount Jais in Ras Al Khaimah, while the lowest temperature recorded yesterday was 6°C at the same location.
We expect moderate to fresh winds, blowing dust during the day, 15 – 25 km/h from southeast to northwest, sometimes up to 35 km/h.
In the evening, swells will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and light in the Sea of Oman.
