The number of cases in the UAE has declined in recent weeks after a surge in infections in June.
Mass screening and a broad vaccination strategy have been key to curbing the spread of the virus, which began spreading globally two and a half years ago.
Stay-at-home measures and deep cleaning operations were introduced in the early stages of the outbreak. Offices and schools were closed and flights were grounded as a precaution.
Authorities have introduced physical distancing rules and mandated the wearing of masks in public.
Safety measures have been gradually relaxed in recent months to support a return to normalcy and take into account the decline in the number of cases.
In February, the UAE lifted the requirement to wear face coverings in outdoor venues, while motorists travelling to Abu Dhabi from other emirates no longer need to show their green pass status on the Al Hosn app.
