UAE residents requiring a Schengen visa no longer face long wait times for appointments

[ad_1]

The wait time of three months or more for United Arab Emirates residents to obtain a Schengen visa has ended, and visa appointments are available immediately.

“Schengen visa appointments are currently available, but it still depends on the embassy or the country the UAE traveler is applying for. Some countries will not be able to accept visa appointments until October,” he said. Raheesh Babu from the online travel platform revealed.

An Indian expat living in Abu Dhabi only has to wait 20 days to book a Schengen visa, which used to be three to four months. This September, UAE residents will travel to three member states; Switzerland, Italy and Germany, Schengen Visa Information Network Report.

“I was surprised when I got the slot so early because I read news about long delays. Even the process of handing over the documents was fairly straightforward,” He says.

In addition, airfares across Europe have changed as a result, with flights to Amsterdam dropping from €283 and €377 currently to €141 and €236 in September.

A one-way ticket to Berlin currently costs about 283 euros and is expected to be halved by the end of next month, while a flight to Madrid costs 236 euros, but fares are not expected to change much.

On the Paris route, the cheapest tickets in the first week of September will be almost half of current fares.

“With fuel prices still high, fares won’t return to pre-pandemic levels anytime soon. While leisure travel will fall sharply in the coming weeks, business travel will continue to rise,” said a travel agent.

However, while airfares have fallen, flight disruptions have occurred across Europe, with more cancellations expected in the coming months. In Spain, Ryanair staff have announced a weekly strike until January 7, 2023, while in Portugal aviation staff will take action for several days in August.

The strikes happened due to high demand for travel and actions aimed at better compensation for aviation workers.

Last month, Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport introduced a compensation scheme for passengers who were at the airport between April 23 and August 11 but missed their flight due to unexpected security wait times.

In addition, in July, Residents of the United Arab Emirates are dealing with long wait times Obtain a visa to travel to Europe, which may be extended from three weeks to three months.
