UAE retail sector interested in expanding Georgian product range

Citing Georgia’s Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, EastFruit said that UAE-based company LuLu Group International is interested in introducing Georgian products to retail chains.

Agriculture Minister Otar Shamugia met representatives of LuLu Group International, one of the largest trading companies in the United Arab Emirates. At the meeting, the two sides discussed the export of agricultural products produced in Georgia and their layout in the company’s trade network. As the Minister pointed out, some Georgian goods are already sold in several facilities of the LuLu Group trade network.

“With the support of the Georgian government and the implementation of relevant national projects, the country’s local production, storage and processing capabilities have increased year by year, enhancing the export potential of Georgia’s high-quality and advantageous products. We are constantly striving to diversify the market and promote Georgia globally. product.

With the help of the state, Georgian products are exhibited at all important international exhibitions. Putting products into LuLu Group’s trade network is a great opportunity for local entrepreneurs to promote Georgian products and at the same time improve exports. We will do our best to help entrepreneurs and increase exports of Georgian products,” said Mr. Otar Shamugia.

Mr. Salim MA, Director of LuLu Group International noted that interest in Georgian agricultural products is growing; therefore, the company intends to increase imports from Georgia.

“The LuLu Group operates in 23 countries around the world (Gulf, Middle East, Asia, America and Europe) and owns the LuLu retail chain (248 hypermarkets and 24 shopping malls) and distribution companies. The annual turnover of the company is US$9 billion. We It is hoped that Georgian fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, nuts, lamb and other products will appear in our trade network”, said Salim M. A, expressing his readiness to meet producers and negotiate future cooperation.

As mentioned earlier, Georgia issues botanical and veterinary certificates according to international standards. Everything is done in-country to ensure that the manufactured product is of high quality and up to standard.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Tengiz Nasaridze, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, Mr. Zurab Chekurashvili, Director General of National Food Agency, Mr. Giorgi Jibladze, Deputy Director General of Rural Development Agency, and representatives of partners from LuLu Group International. LuLu Group International is the largest trading company in the United Arab Emirates. Companies include retail trade/commercial, hypermarket, shopping center management, product manufacturing and processing, wholesale distribution, hotel and real estate development.
