[ad_1]

UAESA said: “The Spatial Data Center is part of a transformational project initiated by the UAE Government to realize the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE. [and Ruler of Dubai], focused on creating the best and most dynamic economy in the world. “

The Space Data Center aims to provide an innovative ecosystem to address global sustainable development challenges using spatial data and technologies, promote space-related solutions to overcome national challenges, and increase the number of companies and patents in the space industry.

These initiatives also help attract leading innovators, accelerate the development of space products, and increase the productivity of scientific research to provide a better life for people through the use of space-related applications and services.

Sarah Bint Yousif Al Amiri, Minister of State for Public Education and Advanced Technologies and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, said: “The UAE’s participation in COP27 clearly demonstrates its keenness to invest in the future of knowledge based on its deep-rooted belief in the importance of knowledge in the global fight against climate change. We are always committed to launching new initiatives and projects and adopting the latest technologies to address climate-related challenges and promote sustainable development to protect the environment and biodiversity on our planet.”

Meanwhile, UAESA also announced that in partnership with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE), Farmin, an UAE AI and remote sensing technology startup, has won the Climate Change Challenge. UAESA recently launched this challenge as part of the Spatial Analysis and Solutions (SAS) program, along with other initiatives including food security, climate change, environmental and vegetation monitoring, infrastructure and energy.

The award-winning app created by Farmin supports efforts to combat climate change and enhance monitoring of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions in the Arabian Peninsula by leveraging AI (Artificial Intelligence) and global, up-to-date and generally available remote sensing data.

Salem Butti Salem Al Qubaisi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency, said: “During our participation in COP27, UAESA will launch several projects and initiatives aimed at realizing our vision of supporting the global space industry and scientific activities. This goal is fully in line with the wise leadership of the UAE aspirations to be a leading hub for related projects and initiatives, including space data centres. Our priority is to support start-ups, entrepreneurs and academics, which is fully in line with our development of space solutions and applications to promote the UAE as a regional space innovation Center’s vision.”
