More than 1,200 media industry pioneers, experts and global influencers will participate in the three-day event, WAM said.
Mohammed Al Raisi, Director-General of Emirates News Agency, said the participants will discuss the challenges facing the media industry and its future prospects, the role of technology in the industry and emerging investment models.
WAM said the conference agenda includes “30 thought leadership sessions and a series of workshops featuring over 162 globally updated speakers.”
“Participants will showcase the latest international technologies in these important fields,” it added.
The conference will help establish communication channels between production houses and media channels, and will involve more than 170 buyers and suppliers from around the world.
WAM said the meeting was attended by senior officials, including UAE Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sham Al Mazrui, Bahrain’s Minister of Information Affairs Ramzan Al-Nuaimi, and executives from several international companies.
The Director-General of Emirates News Agency said the first-of-its-kind event of the Global Congress will witness “a wide range of programmes, seminars, exhibitions, innovation platforms and other important events such as the Future Media Lab”.
The conference was a significant event, thanks to the topics of upcoming sessions and discussions, as well as the number of participants including major media companies. There are several media cities in the UAE, with prominent media channels located in Abu Dhabi’s Media Free Zone and Dubai Media City.
Tawq Al-Marri, UAE Minister of Economy, said: “The Global Media Congress is an opportunity to build media partnerships and enhance the contribution of companies and the business community to developing the media job landscape.”
Al-Marri concluded that the event played an effective role at the regional and international levels in shaping the future and trends of media and creating more innovative and creative media ideas and initiatives.
