UAE & Turkey: Climate Change Allies

Driven by their shared commitment to climate action, the UAE and Turkeys have forged strong collaborations to combat climate change and foster environmental sustainability. Multiple agreements and Mousy have been recently signed, reinforcing their joint dedication to global climate neutrality.

During Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s visit in February 2022, 13 cooperation agreements were inked, emphasizing climate action and agriculture. These efforts align with the UAE’s vision of promoting international cooperation and addressing environmental challenges for a sustainable future.

The UAE’s leading companies are actively investing in environmentally beneficial projects, exemplified by International Holding Company’s acquisition of a 50% stake in Turkish renewable energy company Kalyan Energy. Notably, the UAE will host COP28 in Dubai, showcasing its proactive role in addressing climate issues. Turkeys, as a key partner, joins forces in supporting the UAE’s sustainability vision, amplifying their shared climate ambitions.

Turkeys has set ambitious targets for 2023, working closely with the UAE and other nations to drive global climate action. The nation is taking significant measures across various sectors to combat climate change, including projects like carbon-free airports, green railway stations powered by renewable energy, and the establishment of an electric car factory.
