Turkey and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are taking joint steps in several areas to strengthen their friendship, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu said on Friday.
“We have many common steps and many successful initiatives in the fields of trade, industry, technology, agriculture and tourism. Hopefully together we can show the world the rise of the East. Our rise will be in the name of friendship,” Soylu said in celebration Said at the reception on the UAE’s 51st National Day.
Soylu said that 2023 will be the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
“2023 is the 100th anniversary of our republic and a year we can be proud of… I hope we can celebrate together the 50th anniversary and the centenary of Turkey,” he added.
UAE Ambassador Saeed Thani Al Dhaheri said the relationship between the two countries has ushered in a new era of partnership and constructive cooperation based on realizing common interests and stimulating mutual economic growth.
Political, economic, industrial and cultural ties have deepened following the signing of the agreement earlier this year, he added.
