UAE, Turkmenistan review strengthening bilateral ties

Ashgabat – Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, has left the UAE for a working visit to Turkmenistan.

The delegation led by Dr. Al Jaber consisted of Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE); Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD); and a number of officials from the government and private sector.

Ahmed Al Hay Al Hameli, UAE Ambassador to Turkmenistan, accompanied the UAE delegation.

During his visit, Dr. Al Jaber met with President of Turkmenistan Berdymukhamedov, conveying greetings from His Highness President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, as well as his greetings to Turkmenistan leaders and best wishes for further progress and prosperity to the people.

He also conveyed His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, and Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Maktoum, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs Greetings from His Royal Highness Le Nahyan.

For his part, President Berdymukhamedov conveyed his greetings and best wishes to the leadership and people of the UAE, affirming his keenness to develop bilateral relations in various fields for the benefit of the two friendly countries .

During the talks, the delegation discussed ways to develop bilateral relations and strengthen cooperation in areas such as oil, gas, clean energy, infrastructure, banking and sustainable joint investment opportunities.

The delegation also recalled the UAE’s readiness to host the 28th United Nations Conference of the Parties on Climate Change (COP28) in 2023, and ways to intensify action to ensure energy security and support progress on climate action, as well as sustainable economic and social development.

The agenda of the visit included several meetings with senior Turkmenistan officials.

The visit, which included a series of talks with senior Turkmenistan officials, comes as the leaders of the two countries are keen to develop bilateral relations in various economic, investment, cultural and tourism fields and follows up on the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the UAE in November this year, witnessing The two countries have signed a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding in various fields.
