A month before the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix, UAE International Karting Champion Rashid Al Dhaheri becomes the first Arab driver to reach the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA) Scouting World Finals .
The 2022 FDA Scout World Finals is the pinnacle of all young racing drivers, and the final stage will take place at the Enzo Ferrari headquarters in Maranello, Italy.
The winner of the World Scout Finals will join the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy, the oldest and best-known Formula 1 academy in the world. Drivers from the academy include the latest superstars, the never-forgotten Jules Bianchi, Charles Leclerc, but also Sergio Perez, Mick Schumacher, Lance Stein Rolle and Zhou Guanyu.
Al Dhaheri will spend the last week of October with five other young contenders in Scuderia Ferrari, Ferrari’s motorsport-related division. Numerous Ferrari experts will analyse, examine and assess him in a series of tests to assess his physical and attitude abilities, as well as his mental fitness for the rigorous racing life on and off the track.
Young Emirati champion Al Dhaheri will also take part in a simulator course and test in a Formula 4 car at the famous Fiorano circuit, Ferrari’s home circuit. At the end of the week, Ferrari experts will decide who will be allowed to join the FDA and launch a daunting program with one goal: a fight for Formula 1’s Prancing Horse.
The Emiratis’ stellar international racing career, winning multiple karting championships in multiple engine classes, brought this amazing opportunity and motivated all Arab youth. It’s a testament to the area’s potential, where hard work, dedication and passion can make your dreams come true. Everything is possible.
