People who are facing visa related issues in the UAE have a great opportunity to resolve them.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) is conducting a 3-day campaign called “Home for All” in central Deira to reach out to residents, tourists and tourists with visa issues.
The event will be held daily from 25th to 27th February and authorities from GDRFA will be at a booth near Centerpoint in downtown Deira from 10am to 10pm to help those who have any issues with their visas including those who have overstayed their visas Those who are in residence as well as those whose documents have expired.
According to GDRFA social media posts, the campaign hopes to encourage a culture of compliance with immigration and residence laws. Lieutenant Colonel Salem bin Ali, Director, Customer Happiness Department, GDRFA advised people not to approach the stand with fear. “Even if you overstay for 10 years, our staff will find a solution for you,” he said in an Instagram story.
In the UAE, fees for overstaying the visa period will be punished with a fine of AED 50 per day. This also applies to visa cancellations, which often result in hefty fines. According to GDRFA, the event will provide people in the UAE with an opportunity to resolve any visa-related issues.
