Dubai: West Zone Group today announced a donation of AED 10 million to the ‘1 Billion Meals Donation’ campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to build the largest Ramadan sustainable food aid endowment.
The group pledged AED10 million over five years to support the movement’s goal of creating sustainable solutions to fight hunger and support vulnerable groups.
Naresh Bhawnani, Founder and Chairman of West Zone Group, said: “The 1 Billion Meals campaign is an extension of the message of goodness, giving and generosity that the UAE has conveyed since its inception. It is also a testament to its humanitarian leadership and contributes to Aid to those in need around the world.”
“We are honored to support this campaign and join the list of donors to the largest Ramadan food aid donation fund, reflecting our commitment to supporting the UAE’s humanitarian efforts to help the vulnerable and fight hunger,” he added.
The 1 Billion Meals Drive, organized by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, is the latest in dozens of humanitarian initiatives being implemented around the world.

Yesterday, the Alfardan Group announced a donation of AED 5 million to support the 1 billion meal drive. Alfardan Group pledged AED 5 million over five years.
Ali Fardan Al Fardan, Chairman of the Alfardan Group, said: “We are honored to be part of the 1 Billion Meals Donation; a message of humanity and solidarity in support of the global fight against hunger, a major challenge in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.”
“The campaign and endowment represent the UAE’s deep understanding of the role and importance of sustainable humanitarian efforts in supporting vulnerable groups,” he added.
Donation Channel
The 1 Billion Meals Donation Campaign continues to welcome institutional and individual donations to the Endowment Fund through five main channels, including the campaign website, as well as through a dedicated call center established through a toll-free number (800 9999).
Donations can also be made via UAE dirham bank transfer to the active bank account of UAE NBD (AE30 0260 0010 1533 3439 802).
Donating via SMS, donors can choose to donate Dh1 per day with a monthly subscription by sending the word “Meal” to 1020 for du users, or Etisalat at 1110 for e& users.
Those wishing to donate to the campaign through the DubaiNow app can do so by clicking on the ‘Donate’ tab.
