UAE’s Mohamed bin Zayed invites Sisi to COP28

President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi met with the United Arab Emirates ambassador to Cairo, Mariam Kaabi, in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday.

For his part; Sisi expressed Egypt’s confidence in the UAE to lead the upcoming climate summit, given the UAE’s proven capabilities.

He also stressed that both parties are eager to strengthen the cooperation and transfer of Egyptian expertise in this area, especially in view of the specificity of Egypt-UAE relations, in order to ensure a positive outcome of the summit, support the international climate in all its components, and consider related concerns of developing countries and African countries.

Meanwhile, President Sisi met Akinumi Adesina, chairman of the African Development Bank Group, and his accompanying delegation on Tuesday.

The Presidential Spokesperson said that President Sisi welcomed the development of cooperation between Egypt and the African Development Bank and expressed his appreciation for the role played by the Bank in supporting the development sector on the continent, especially in light of Africa’s growing economic challenges. International level.

The President also stressed that Egypt hopes to continue and increase its cooperation with the World Bank in various fields within the framework of the common national strategic goals of both parties in the coming period.

For his part, the President of the African Development Bank praised Egypt’s development experience over the past few years, calling it an important source of inspiration for African people across the continent,

He added that the Egyptian people and their political leadership have demonstrated a remarkable ability to rise rapidly and achieve many important achievements,

In this context, achievements in many development sectors, notably electricity, water treatment and reuse, and the development of unplanned residential areas, are seen as exemplary and inspiring examples of developmental progress benefiting large segments of the population.

The president of the African Development Bank Group expressed his delight at the banking group’s annual meeting in Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt this May, noting that they will focus on ways to encourage economic integration on the continent, as well as mechanisms to bridge climate change and funding for the continent.
