United Arab Emirates: Sheikh Mohammed says Hope Probe has found “higher than expected” oxygen levels on Mars-News

He shared the latest photos taken by the Hope Probe from the north of Mars

The Hope probe in the UAE found that the oxygen content on the red planet was higher than expected.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the news on Saturday.

Sheikh Mohammed, when sharing photos taken from the northern part of Mars by the Hope probe, also said that the country has begun to share scientific data obtained from the Mars mission with the Global Research Center, which is in line with its set goals.

The Hope Probe’s official Twitter page confirms this progress, stating: “The UAE Mars mission has released a unique new image of Mars, challenging our existing concepts about the behavior and interaction of gases in the Earth’s atmosphere.

The mission further elaborated how “more hidden miracles” were discovered as the probe continued to observe the Martian atmosphere. “Hope’s UV spectrometer made new and strange observations during the day on Mars,” it said.

“The discovery of complex structures in the upper atmosphere of Mars reveals unexpected oxygen concentrations. These huge structures have never been imaged before. These bright patches reveal the abundance of oxygen and challenge the Martian atmosphere. Existing models of. As we hope to collect more data about this red planet, we are getting closer to understanding the complex atmosphere of Mars.”

The mission added that these observations, as well as the previously announced observations of the discrete aurora on Mars, are part of the first batch of data released on October 1. It said that the new data set will be released every three months, free of embargo, and available to the community for free.

“The EMM team had expected to observe a relatively uniform emission of oxygen at 130.4 nm across the planet, however, we are now facing unpredictable brightness changes of 50% or more,” it said.

Observations made by the EMUS instrument of the Mars Hope probe showed that the concentration of atomic oxygen and carbon monoxide in the Mars atmosphere during the daytime has changed dramatically.

The UAE Mars mission is the first interplanetary exploration conducted by an Arab country. It was launched from the Tanegashima Space Center in Kagoshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan, at 01:58 GST on July 20, 2020.

The task was not only performed nominally in all areas, but also exceeded the expected performance, covered a range of activities and freed up valuable resources for additional observations.

EMM project director Omran Sharaf said earlier: “In addition to the parameters of our plan, we still have a lot of’room for maneuver’, and our confidence in the spacecraft continues to increase, to be honest.

“We were able to reduce the number of trajectory correction operations and make additional observations during the flight to Mars. Now we have added an entire scientific research area to the mission, which I can only describe as a reward.”
