SHARJAH: His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, received the UAE Presidents Cup-winning Sharjah FC team at Al Badi’ Palace on Sunday and directed a team award 10 million dirhams.
This was done in the presence of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.
The AED 10 million award came as a nod to the club’s tenth and second consecutive win in the UAE Presidents Cup.
The Ruler of Sharjah expressed his gratitude and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, for his generous sponsorship of the tournament and the coronation of the players.
He also expressed his gratitude and appreciation to Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the UAE Football Association, for the good organization and management of the competition.
Dr. Sheikh Sultan congratulated the Sharjah team for winning the UAE Presidents Cup, including the management, players and coaches, praising the players for their high level of performance in the competition, and the Al Ain team, which won everyone’s admiration.
As far as the Sharjah FC’s administrative and technical staff as well as the players are concerned, they express their gratitude and appreciation to the Ruler of Sharjah for this honor and for his tremendous and continuous support for the club’s success.
Sharjah FC won the UAE Presidents Cup with a penalty shoot-out victory over Al Ain in their final match at the Mohamed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on Friday.
Also in attendance at the event were Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, Chairman, Sharjah Ministry of Finance; Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman, Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority; Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Statistics and Community Development Sheikh Majid bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Ministry of District and Village Affairs; Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Sharjah Charity International; Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Digital Office and heads of some government agencies in the Emirate of Sharjah and sports leaders.
