Located in Dubai’s Nad Al Sheba neighborhood, Deep Dive Dubai’s swimming pool has been certified by Guinness World Records as the world’s deepest diving pool, reaching an incredible depth of 60.02 meters and holding 14 million liters of water – the equivalent of six sessions Olympic-sized swimming pool.
The 1,500-square-meter facility, shaped like a giant oyster in keeping with the UAE’s pearl-diving tradition, also features a dive shop, gift shop and an 80-seat restaurant that will open to the public later this year, as well as a A variety of meeting, event and meeting spaces.
The pool has been endorsed by Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who took to social media on Wednesday to invite adventurers to try it out.
“At Deep Dive Dubai, the whole world is waiting for you,” he wrote, posting a fascinating video of the emirate’s newest attraction.
Sunken cities and hidden rooms
The 60m pool features two underwater habitats with drying chambers at 6m and 21m respectively, 56 underwater cameras covering every angle of the pool, and an advanced sound and mood lighting system.
Fresh water in the pool is filtered and circulated every six hours through siliceous volcanic rock, NASA-developed filtration technology and ultraviolet radiation from one of the largest and fastest filtration systems in the region. The pool water temperature is kept at an optimum temperature of 30 degrees Celsius for divers’ comfort.
Deep Dive Dubai’s pool features the latest technology and unrivaled facilities, including the most advanced hyperbaric chamber in the region, a stunning sunken city for divers of all levels to explore, abandoned streetscapes, and apartments , garage and arcade, and other surprises.
Handpicked teams of international diving experts offer freediving and scuba diving experiences and courses for all ability levels.
A large viewing area on the lower floors of the building allows diners in the restaurant and other rooms to peek into the underwater environment.
Underwater Meetings, Weddings and Movie Experiences
Not only does Deep Dive Dubai hold the title of the deepest diving pool in the world, it is also the largest underwater film studio in the region, complete with media editing rooms, video walls, 56 underwater cameras and the ability to create different atmospheres with 164 lights throughout swimming pool.
Accommodating events for up to 100 people and offering on-site catering options, it’s also the region’s most vibrant meeting and event venue, capable of hosting everything from product launches and movie screenings to birthday parties and weddings.
