“It is unlikely that he will survive. Currently, Russia is actively discussing who will succeed him,” Major General Kerilo Budanov said.

As Russia continues to suffer setbacks on the Ukrainian battlefield, Major General Budanov said Kyiv aims to retake Kherson by the end of November, adding that Ukraine will even try to retake Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014.

Ukraine recently launched a counter-offensive eastward as Russian troops retreated from the city of Kherson.
