Indian actor Akshay Kumar visited BAPS Hindu Mandir, which is under construction in Abu Dhabi, and was amazed by the exquisite design and sculptures of the UAE’s first traditional stone temple.

Earlier in the day, Kumar was welcomed by Swami Brahmaviharidas, head of BAPS Hindu Mandir, along with Indian filmmaker Vashu Bhagnani and businessman Jiten Doshi.

The actor and delegation were taken inside the “River of Harmony” exhibition, which offers a glimpse into the origins of the BAPS Hindu temple, which was prayed by Pramukh Swami Maharaj in 1997 Conceived for harmony and peace.

The actor participated in the prayer ceremony and laid a brick in the construction of the temple. Akshay Kumar was in awe as Swami unveiled the intricate carvings beneath the seven spires dedicated to different deities. Carvings surrounding the temple bases depict life stories of the respective deities, demonstrating the craftsmanship and dedication that went into their construction.

Kumar and Swami commend the generosity and vision of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for making this “spiritual oasis of global harmony” in the UAE Thank you very much for your continued support.

Kumar’s scheduled 40-minute visit was extended to a two-hour tour of discovery and appreciation.

“You are making history… what you are creating is not only a service to our community, but a service to humanity. To create a new world where there is peace, love and support between people; there is really nothing stronger than that Already… “Love Can Move Mountains” is a true testament to your efforts…it’s overwhelming! It’s a dream within a dream,” the Indian actor emphasized.

Kumar also met with this group of volunteers, contributors and workers.

The temple started construction in December 2019 and is expected to open in February next year.
