Abu Dhabi: Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahya, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the High Commission overseeing preparations for the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28 UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan today launched a national campaign to raise awareness of sustainable development initiatives and projects in the country.
The campaign was launched during the Year of Sustainability as the country prepares to host COP28 in Dubai Expo City in November to support its climate action efforts.
The nationwide campaign aims to spread awareness of environmental sustainability issues, engage local communities and support strategies related to climate action in order to positively influence the behavior and responsibility of individuals to reach environmentally conscious communities.

The campaign website (sustainableuae.ae) highlights national initiatives and success stories in sustainable development.
The media campaign spanned several dimensions, most notably “The Legacy of the Founding Fathers”, which highlighted the approach and legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founding father of the UAE, in the field of sustainable development.
‘Climate Makers’ focuses on members of the UAE community who are taking innovative climate and environmental initiatives to build a sustainable future.
The Road to Zero reflects actions taken by the UAE in several areas to achieve net zero emissions in line with its national goals.
‘Green Buildings’ features some of the most iconic and sustainable buildings in the UAE. “Sanctuary” highlights the country’s collaborative initiatives and innovative solutions to protect its fragile and unique natural ecosystems.
