Authorities have advised residents to stay away from valleys and streams
Heavy rain accompanied by lightning hit several parts of the country on Wednesday. Many residents were drenched by the sudden showers, while traffic jams were reported on several roads due to slow traffic.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) said the rainy and dusty conditions would continue until at least 11.30pm tonight.
Meanwhile, the UAE Ministry of Interior (MoI) and other authorities have advised residents to be careful while driving.
“Avoid valleys and places with currents,” the ministry advises. Heavy rains often cause valleys to flood as water gushes up the mountains.
