Thuso Mbedu was driving a race car around the track during her recent holiday in Abu Dhabi, so she needed speed.

The South African actor shared a video instagram She drives a Porsche Taycan Turbo with a professional driver at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

In lengthy subtitles, Mbedou recalled how she learned to drive.

“When I decided I was ready to get my driver’s license, I asked my uncle to teach me how to drive,” she wrote. “My uncle gave my sister his keys and asked her to teach me as she has had her license for about 5/6 years. To tell you I got out of that car and pretty much walked home would be an understatement statement.”

Mbedou added that while her sister was a “good driver”, she was a “terrible teacher”.

“It goes without saying: we both love cars and driving, so I was delighted to share this driving experience with her at Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi. It was crazy going from civilian driving mode to ‘full throttle’ because you ‘s brain keeps saying ‘no, no, no’.” The Queen star concluded that she is now eager for “a driving experience on all the F1 tracks”.

Mbedu took part in her first F1 race in November.
