Video shows a father taking a nap on the beach while his children play

Abu Dhabi Civil Defense released a video urging residents to keep an eye on their children, especially on the beach.

“Take care of them so you don’t lose them,” the authority said in the caption of the social awareness video.

On Instagram, Civil Administration shared a skit in which a father takes his children to the beach. At first, the kids played ball and built sandcastles while their dads lounged nearby and watched.

However, once their dad thought the kids didn’t seem to be getting very far, he closed his eyes and took a nap.

Then one of the kids kicked the ball into the water and the other asked him to pick it up. Seconds later, the child started drowning and shouted for help. However, their unwitting guardians are still asleep.

Then, one of the children woke the father, who rushed into the water – only to find that he would never see his son again. He quickly dialed 999 to seek help from relevant departments.

Civil defense personnel rushed to the scene and managed to free the boy. They then provided life-saving medical care to the boy and put him in an ambulance after he started breathing again.

When the video ended, the father was horrified while repeating the message, thereby urging parents to remain vigilant at all times to keep their children safe.
