DUBAI: Drivers must take extra care on the roads due to heavy fog in parts of the UAE on Saturday morning.
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) is warning motorists of reduced road visibility: “Fog formation is likely due to reduced horizontal visibility over most coastal areas and some inland areas before 9am today”.
Today’s skies will be partly cloudy at times, according to the UAE Meteorological Department. Some low clouds will move eastwards in the morning, with some convective clouds and rain possible.
The country’s highs are expected to be between 31 and 35°C, with lows between 13-19°C.
Highs will be between 29-32°C in coastal areas and 19-24°C in the mountains.
The NCM added that residents can expect, “light to moderate winds of 15-25 km/h, up to 45 km/h, kicking up dust and sand.”
The NCM also said that relative humidity is expected to increase overnight and Sunday morning, especially along the coast and inland, leading to fog formation.
Humidity will be as high as 75-95% along the coast, while 40-60% is expected in the mountains and 70-85% in the interior.
Seas in the Arabian Gulf and Sea of Oman will be mild to moderate, the NCM added.
