When Hellboy fails, David Harbour gets advice from Ryan Reynolds Entertainment

When 2019’s “Hellboy” was on the brink of failure, David Harbour turned to Ryan Reynolds for advice.

The Stranger Things star, 47, revealed that he assured the 45-year-old actor that he “will get through it” as the Canadian star went through the same in 2011’s Green Lantern thing.

Speaking about the latest issue of GQ Hype, he said: “I know [Ryan] A little bit. I called him and I was like, hey man, I just need to know a few things. Do you know “Green Lantern”? A huge failure for you.

“What the fuck is this because I think I’m going to hit that right now. Will I be okay? Will I survive?”

David played the titular demon hero in the 2019 revamp directed by Neil Marshall, but it was slammed by critics and bombed at the box office.

The ‘Black Widow’ actor previously admitted he can understand why the project was a bad idea, as audiences just valued Guillermo del Toro’s two Hellboy movies too much to give the fresh one a chance.

Speaking on Instagram Live in 2020, he said: “I think it flopped before we even started shooting because I don’t think people wanted us to make this film, and for some reason we thought it could be reinvented, And then they definitely would — the loudness internet was like, “We don’t want you to touch this. “

“Then we made a movie that I thought was funny, I thought it had problems, but it was a funny movie, and then people were very against it, it’s people’s rights, but I took it in a lot of different ways lesson.”

Guillermo’s “Hellboy” movie, starring Ron Pullman as the Dark Horse comic book character, was a hit with critics and audiences alike. He had planned to make a third film, but it was cancelled due to lack of funds.

Harbour has previously claimed the reboot is fundamentally flawed because so many voices have contributed to the project.

He likened the project to chocolate, explaining: “It’s like chocolate, it’s a taste. So everyone said, ‘Chocolate is delicious, and these people make the best chocolate.’

“So when you’re judging a movie, it’s like, ‘Well, it’s not like this chocolate; this isn’t chocolate at all.’

“And I wanted a world with more flavors, not just a comparison to chocolate. So, that way, when Hellboy was seen as a chocolate line, it performed really badly.”
