When is Eid al-Adha in Dubai and the UAE in 2022?Holidays, prayer times, covid celebration guide

[ad_1]

Eid al-Adha celebrates the Prophet Ibrahim’s loyalty to Allah because of his willingness to sacrifice his son Ismail. This year will begin on the evening of July 9th and end on the evening of July 10th. Eid al Adha means “Feast of sacrifice”. This is one of the biggest and most important festivals in the UAE. It is also commonly known as Bakra Eid. The day before the festival is the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is celebrated by sacrificing any animal to prove loyalty to Allah, and the offering is then distributed to family and friends as well as the poor or needy. A special prayer is held at the mosque before the sacrifice of the animals, and large numbers of people gather to pray.
