Wizz Air, Europe’s leading airline, has launched a design competition to encourage talent from around the world to create a sustainable livery for one of its Airbus A321neo aircraft.
The winner will receive a WIZZ voucher worth EUR 2,000.
To raise awareness of its sustainability efforts and to meet its commitment to reduce CO2 intensity by a further 25% by 2030, Wizz Air invited creative talents to design a new livery for one of its Airbus A321neo aircraft.
The contest started on January 20th at 10:00 CET and will end on February 12th at 23:59 CET. All Entrepreneurs must email their designs in accordance with the competition’s terms and conditions and design guidelines. Winning designs may be used in whole or in part to create the final sustainable livery.
A key element of Wizz Air’s sustainability strategy is the renewal of its fleet. The airline has been continuously expanding its fleet while replacing its older aircraft with Airbus A321neo. The new A321neo incorporates the latest aviation technology and delivers significant environmental benefits, with an almost 50% reduction in noise footprint, 20% reduction in fuel consumption and 50% reduction in nitrogen oxide emissions compared to the previous model.
In addition to an ambitious fleet renewal program, Wizz Air is continuously working on improving fuel efficiency and improving the analysis of related data. The airline has signed a memorandum of understanding with Airbus to explore the potential of hydrogen-powered aircraft and another with OMV to supply sustainable aviation fuel between 2023 and 2030. These partnerships reinforce Wizz Air’s ten-year commitment to reduce emissions intensity by the end of 2020. – trade arab news agency
