Leading airlines Emirates and Etihad announce plans to hire thousands of new employees
After the Covid-19 pandemic, the aviation industry has recovered with the opening of airspace. There are many job opportunities in the Emirates aviation industry, as local airlines have begun to recruit heavily, thanks to the expansion of the airline network.
In the past few weeks, Emirates, the well-established airline in the UAE, announced a plan to recruit 3,000 crew members and 500 airport service staff in the coming months to meet the growing demand for passengers. Similarly, Etihad Airways will also hold a large-scale recruitment event to recruit up to 1,000 people with hotel service experience to join the airline’s crew.
A flydubai spokesperson also stated in a statement to Khaleej Times that the low-cost airline will continue to modify its recruitment plan based on business requirements.
According to a report by Khaleej Times on October 8, a leading airline in the UAE will conduct a non-appointment interview on October 11 to recruit 500 customer service agents.
Vijay Gandhi, regional director of Korn Ferry Europe, Middle East and Africa, said that with the increase in domestic and international travel, the global aviation industry is in a transitional mode.
According to data from the International Air Transport Association (Iata), the number of employees in the global aviation industry will increase by 10% in 2022 after a significant reduction in the past 24 months.
“We see that Gulf Air’s specific role is being filled in flights that have started operating at higher capacity in the past few months. We will continue to hire core aviation positions as needed. We will continue to see airlines’ non-core functions Hiring or adjustments are staggered,” Gandhi said
“With the restoration of confidence, the long-term demand for aviation personnel in the Gulf region will continue to rise, especially for crew members, technicians and pilots,” he added.
With the gradual relaxation of restrictions on travel and movement, airlines are now focusing on re-staffing. Emirates has requested that employees who have been fired due to the pandemic are welcome to apply for positions.
