LAS VEGAS, May 9 (AP) – An adult was shot and injured Monday afternoon at a middle school in suburban Las Vegas, but law enforcement officials say they believe the search for the shooter continues The school is not under any further threat.

The shooting reportedly occurred at Ed Von Tobel Middle School at 12:40 p.m., according to a statement from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The middle school, about 15 minutes northeast of the Las Vegas Strip, was cordoned off for about an hour while police cleared the campus. At 1:40 p.m., Las Vegas police confirmed the students had been released.

Those who were shot were taken to hospital, but police did not comment on their injuries. Police also did not say whether the person who was shot was a school employee. (Associated Press)
