China’s 20th National Congress began on Sunday, with Xi vowing to further modernize the army in line with the 2027 goal of the PLA’s centenary, according to state media Xinhua.

In his report to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Beijing, Xi Jinping said that the people’s armed forces should be raised to the world-class level of building a modern socialist country as soon as possible.

“We will comprehensively strengthen the party building of the People’s Armed Forces to ensure that the People’s Armed Forces always obey the party’s command,” Xinhua quoted Xi as saying.

He said that the party will improve the system and mechanism for implementing the responsibility system of the chairman of the Central Military Commission.

Xi Jinping said that the Communist Party of China will strengthen the party organization of the People’s Armed Forces, conduct regular activities, establish systems, and improve the military’s political work.

Portal Plus quoted Xi as saying that the CCP will strengthen military training, comprehensively enhance combat readiness, strengthen all-round military governance, and enhance comprehensive national strategy and strategic capabilities.

According to Reuters, Xi Jinping told the Communist Party’s biannual meeting that the country has achieved full control over Hong Kong and transformed the city from chaos to governance.

Regional experts say President Xi Jinping will undoubtedly be re-elected for five years in 1982, the highest position Mao Zedong has ever held. (ANI)
