St. Petersburg (USA) May 10 (AP) – A Florida man was driving his Tesla at speeds of at least 116 mph (186 km/h) before crashing into a house in 2021 and killing him. Two people died and he was sentenced to 27 years in prison.
Vaughn Mongan, 45, of Palm Harbor was sentenced Monday in Pinellas County Court, the Tampa Bay Times reported. In March, he pleaded guilty to two counts of homicide by a motor vehicle and three counts of reckless driving causing grievous bodily harm.

In September 2021, Mongan was driving at nearly four times the legal speed limit on a Tampa Bay-area road when he sprinted through a stop sign at a T-intersection and hit a bushwalk, officials said.
