Khan accused the current coalition government of a “witch hunt” against its party leaders and allies, claiming that police officers entered the homes of PTI workers in Multan and were tasked with such threatening tactics.
“They want to enslave us by threatening to put us in jail,” Khan, who has lived at his residence in Lahore’s Zaman Park since November 3 last year when he was shot in the leg, said in his televised address.

After filing sedition cases against party leaders including Fawad Chaudhry, Azam Swati and Shahbaz Gill, Imran Khan declared “Jail Bharo Tehreek” on February 4 and asked PTI staff and supporters to Prepare for sports across the country.
He added that the interim government was strongly opposed to PTI.
Referring to the guard setup, he said: “This man was of questionable character. We had a list of 23 people who committed atrocities and 16 of them were brought in.”
The PTI chief also recalled the “torture” suffered by his party leaders, highlighting the treatment of Swati, Jill and Fawad.
“There has never been such an act against a political opponent in history,” Khan lamented.
Tensions between the current government and PTI have intensified with no signs of easing as elections in the two provinces of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa loom following the party’s decision to dissolve parliament. The Punjab and KP parliaments were dissolved by the PTI on January 14 and January 18, respectively, Geo News reported.

Khan’s fresh criticism came hours after President Arif Alvi called an emergency meeting of CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja on February 20 to announce a new general election date.
He said they dissolved the provincial assemblies of Punjab and Kimberley because the country’s constitution clearly states that elections should be held within 90 days of any assembly being dissolved.
“The caretaker government and interim chief minister will be illegal on day 91,” he added.
There is no greater disaster than when the judiciary fails to ensure the implementation of the constitution, he said in a crackdown on pollster authorities. “There is no justice where the rule of law breaks down.”
Khan said they have been claiming that the coalition government has no mandate and that they cannot run the country.
The head of the PTI accused the interim government of obstructing an investigation into his assassination attack in Wazirabad on November 3 last year, saying “its job is only to conduct elections”.
“The Provisional Government came first to prevent [joint investigation team] JIT and steal records. When an officer went to collect the JIT report, it was found that there were only 11 pages left in the report,” he said, adding that the JIT records had allegedly been lost.
According to Geo News, the former prime minister lambasted the temporary setup in Punjab, saying that all links point to them and they are afraid of getting caught. (Arnie)
